Snap Privacy Policy

Snap is a screenshot and screen recording app for macOS, provided by Ido Segev / Chillss.

Your captures stay on your Mac

Snap processes screenshots, screen recordings, annotations, and recognized text locally on your Mac. Snap does not upload this content to us or to third-party servers.

Snap does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or analytics tools.

Screen Recording permission

Snap requires macOS Screen Recording permission to capture screenshots and record selected areas of your screen. Captured content may include anything visible in the area you select.

You can manage or revoke this permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. The setting’s name may vary by macOS version.

Local storage and clipboard

Snap stores screenshot history, recordings, and preferences locally on your Mac. When you copy a screenshot, recognized text, or a recording, Snap places that content on your system clipboard.

Other apps or system features may access or synchronize clipboard content according to your device settings. Files you save in a cloud-synced folder may also be uploaded by that folder’s storage provider.

Snap accesses additional folders when you choose them—for example, to save screenshots or optionally open Mac screenshots in Snap.

Sharing your content

You control whether to copy, export, drag, or share your captures. Once you provide content to another app or service, that service’s privacy practices apply.

Support communications

If you contact contact@chillss.com, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and attachments. We use it to answer your request and troubleshoot problems.

Please avoid sending passwords, payment information, or screenshots containing sensitive information. Support messages may be processed by the email providers used to deliver and store them.

Purchases

Purchases and payments through the Mac App Store are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Snap does not receive your payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Your locally stored captures remain on your Mac until you delete them. Removing Snap may leave saved files and application data behind.

You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing contact@chillss.com. We may retain information where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve an ongoing issue.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Snap’s features or practices change. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date.
